Muntanga Mudenda - I Wanted A Man

I Wanted A Man

I wanted a man
Who understands me
Cares for me
Supports me
Is my biggest fan
A man who knows how to have fun
Picks me up when I’m down
My personal clown
Surprises me, presents me a flower
Challenges me when I’m wrong, he does not cower
Cherishes the moments we spend together
Dreads those we spend away from each other
A man who loves me
A man whose d**k won’t work without me
There, I said it!
Don’t we all?

I found such a man
With sparks it all began
My freedom became history
His love a pyrrhic victory
Lost more than I gained
Forgot to add he must be God-ordained

I lost the man
Wolf in sheep’s clothing
Used condom, I found the very thing
I thought we were “waiting”
I had a dress and everything.
